The major difference between this Red Robin Nature Camera and the original Hawk Eye is that, because of the Hawk Eye's infrared night vision, it's great for use inside birdhouse and for night-time video, but in daylight it is overly sensitive to the infrared coming from flowers and other plants giving them a washed-out appearance. The Red Robin eliminates the infrared vision and and renders great color video even in bright sunlight. So if your primary use is to be in daylight, this is the camera for you The Red Robin Camera is ideal for watching birds nesting or at a feeder, but this camera can also be used for watching other wildlife like squirrels, raccoons or deer, and is equally well adapted to keep an eye on domestic livestock and pets.
